Love- that ever elusive emotion that most if not all humans strive to find at least once in their lives.
But house do u ever know if someone is really in love with you. Sure they can say they love u, but people lie. You can think someone loves you but they turn around and break your heart with their words or actions.
I guess u have to follow your heart and sometimes it will be broken, but as the old saying is it is better to love and lost then never loved at all
They may be sincere when they say they love you, but then the feeling fades.
ReplyDeleteThe word "love" can mean so many different things, including the infatuation or obsession which we call being "in love," the affection you have for parents and friends, and the self-giving that occurs between the spouses in a good marriage.
Being in love can come quickly, but it can also fade away quickly. The love which comes when you really get to know someone and which is concerned with what is best for the other person, not just with possessing him for yourself is, IMO the true love. It doesn't have to involve sex — it can be a close friendship — but it should be part of any long term relationship.
So you have to be patient, give relationships time to develop, and not try to force them. It takes time to be sure.
Love - the most elusive of the human emotions, and perhaps one of the most fleeting.

Never give up on the hunt for love, and take it when it shows up.

I'm glad that you did your best to try to help Jack... I don't know how to address you, or if it's all right with you that I comment here, so I'll make this brief. IMHO, you did a very loving thing and I consider you to be a true hero... Thank you. We won't know for a while just how vital your intervention was, but I'll bet it allowed the extra time that Jack needed for the proper people to arrive to assist him.

ReplyDeleteOK, kid... You did a wonderful thing, so you need to try to understand that... there is only so much that one person can possibly do in a situation like that, and you were just magnificant!
ReplyDeleteI know it's hard to see a young guy feeling so sad that he feels completely lost. I've been there in my own life. But, you were the person for Jack that I prayed for in my own childhood. How you got there doesn't matter, but that you WERE there when he needed someone to talk to, is the most important thing.
Don't be so hard on yourself! I wish I could give you a pat on the back, or better still, a big hug for caring so much for a young guy in need. You deserve it! And, again, thank you for being so brave! It made all the difference in the world!
